This is a working programme, not a video. Three things are on screen, and they are all live. On the left is a real customer's card, on their phone, in the shop's name. Beside it are the two ways a shop takes a sale. Use either one and watch the points arrive on the same card.
Your till is connected to us, so it sends the basket and knows what was bought. Or your till is not, which is most shops on day one: it carries on taking the money, and somebody keys the total into a browser beside it. Nothing is replaced either way.
The customer · their own phone
The customer's phone. Nothing was installed to get it there.
Route one · a connected till
Square, Shopify, Toast or your own till through our API. It sends the basket, so the programme knows what was bought and can price a member differently or pay a bonus on one shelf. The customer is already identified, the way they would be after their code is scanned.
Nothing on the counter yet. Add something above.
Route two · the till you already have
Nothing is connected here. Your own till rings the sale and takes the money exactly as it does today. Somebody keys the same total into this, on any spare tablet or phone, and the points go on.
Points are earned on the amount. A keyed figure does not say what was bought, so it earns at the shop's standard rate.
A keyed total is a number, not a basket, so there is nothing to price a member differently on and no way to pay a bonus on one shelf. Everything else works: points, rewards, tiers, receipts and the customer's card. Shops usually start here and connect their till later, or never.
No app for the customer to download. No new hardware on your counter. No need to replace the till you already have. The only thing that changed is that the customer has a reason to come back.
